Mother and Child on a Winter Day

January 16, 2024

In reality, Marybeth is much more slender than I've painted her here, but I used my artistic license to exaggerate the size of the mother’s figure. I wanted to capture the feeling a baby has of being totally enveloped in the largeness of his mother’s love. To him, his mother feels as large as the Earth itself, holding him safely. She is his whole world.
