I call this my "comfort series," a series of small monotypes about receiving comfort and emotional support from another person. In this case, it is from my husband, Ian, who gives me a kiss on the top of my head in each scene where I am feeling very sad.
And also, of course, there is comfort to be had in living with cats, and from slowing down and quietly looking out the window, and drinking a mug of coffee...or tea.
Life is really short, and over and over I am reminded that the most important thing is to just be as present as possible, and as loving as possible, and not to take anything for granted-- which is hard because being a human is hard. But we have to try.
Anyway, I hope my comfort series brings some comfort to YOU!
